Gamers on Xbox Live’s gaming service, Xbox Game Pass, have been hit with a new twist on how they play the games in their subscription. Microsoft announced that those who signed up for an online pass from Dec 8 onwards will no longer be able to use them after the date.
The “beyond light game pass not working” is a problem that has been happening to many gamers. The issue affects players who have the game pass, and it will cause them to lose access on December 8th.
The article’s substance
Since yesterday’s announcement, there have been a lot of postings regarding this, so I’m trying to clarify things up for some folks.
Here’s what you won’t have to give up:
- Anything you’ve gotten your hands on. Weapons, armor, exotics, and light-based subclasses are all available.
- No patrol sites will be unavailable to you; all places are open to all players.
- Sectors belonging to the Legend / Master have been lost. These may still be used. The expansions you own, on the other hand, affect your treasure pool.
- You may still play every strike in the playlist, but you won’t be able to launch individual strikes until you have the expansion, which includes knowing whether and when a strike is the Nightfall for the week. The Arms Dealer, The Devil’s Lair, The Disgraced, Exodus Crash, Fallen S.A.B.E.R, The Inverted Spire, The Insight Terminus, and Lake of Shadows are among the F2P NF attacks.
- Prophecy and Vault of Glass are free-to-play games that will continue to be available to all gamers.
- If you have the matching season pass, you may access the material (es). You’ll still have access to things like wrathborn hunts, battlegrounds, override, and purge, among other things.
This is what you will lose access to if you have a current game pass and lose access to the expansions on December 8. To put it another way, if you want to retain this content, you’ll have to purchase the expansion separately:
Forsaken
(Note: the Forsaken “expansion” is being phased out, and the Forsaken bundle will be required after December 7)
Edit: I’m adding a remark here since I’ve already had a few comments on it. On December 7, Forsaken will not be free. The Forsaken campaign is the only product that is being made available for free. To access the material mentioned here, you’ll still need the Forsaken pack. This is explained in further depth in the DCV update.
- Last Wish Raid
- Shattered Throne is a Dungeon.
- Broodhold, The Corrupted, and The Hollowed Lair (Note: Warden of Nothing will be F2P as of the dcv update).
- Any exotics from the Forsaken period that you haven’t gotten yet
Shadowkeep
- Garden of Salvation Raid
- Pit of Heresy is a dungeon.
- Scarlet Keep Strikes
- Any exotics from the Shadowkeep period that you haven’t gotten yet
- Hunting nightmares
- You can’t cultivate moon weapons if you don’t have a lectern.
Beyond the Limits of Light
- Deep Stone Crypt Raid
- Stasis (This is a stasis-specific subclass.) To equip stasis, you must possess BL on the platform where you are playing.)
- Strikes: Proving Grounds, Glassway (Edit: As noted below, season 13 pass holders may still visit Proving Grounds, at least until WQ is released.)
- Hunts for the Empire
- The ExoChallenge
- You can’t cultivate Europa weaponry because of Variks difficulties.
- Access to Osiris Trials (Please note that this is just for the time being till WQ is released.) You’ll need to own WQ instead when it comes out.)
- Any exotics from the Beyond Light period that you haven’t gotten yet?
